GMJ Global Editions
Deadline for Submissions: October 15, 2008
Global Media Journal-Japanese Edition invites the submission of essays and research reports that focus on Japanese media for the inaugural Spring 2009 issue. The guest editors, Kimiko Akita and Rick Kenney, are particularly interested in articles that delve into mass media-related aspects of Japanese society, culture, technology, and media. Articles might address, but are not limited to, such topics as:
• Global media dealing with Japanese society and culture
• Media and technology in Japan
• Media ecology, media ethics, media access, or freedom of expression in Japan
• Pop culture and media in Japan
• Feminism or other critical studies topics in a Japanese media context
The editors seek articles from media scholars for the refereed section as well as papers for the graduate research section (see below for call for graduate research). All papers must be submitted as Microsoft Word attachments no later than October 15, 2008. For submission guidelines, please go to http://lass.calumet.purdue.edu/cca/gmj/gmj_submission_guidelines.htm. Articles that do not follow appropriate submission guidelines will not be considered.
